How do we control Moisture content for engineered wood flooring?

The moisture content of Engineered wood flooring is normally 8+-2%, It can be a 2% more or less depends on the climate of client’s target market.
For example, we do 10-12% for Philippine market, but we do 6-8% to Netherlands.
We use moisture Tester from Netherlands AB company.

We do moisture control from the beginning to the end of production many times. When we are selecting veneers, after kiln dry, after gluing, and after coating before packing, we check the moisture all the time. And not only to the veneer, but also to the plywood. Only if the veneer and plywood moisture has reach a certain value, we can start glue and cold press.

The T&G and lacquer coating production will take about 1 week to 10 days, during the production, the moisture will recover about 1-2%. While flooring waiting for next processing schedule, All pcs will be well wrapped by plastic film to avoid moisture in or out.

As soon as the production finished, we will pack them ASAP with hot shrink plastic film and paper cartons. This will make sure all flooring get mo moisture change after transport to client’s site.
